We are thrilled to announce an exciting art competition for primary school students where one lucky class will win a free school tour to Craggaunowen Castle & Crannóg! The theme for the competition is "My Ancient Ireland", inviting students to explore their imagination and creativity by depicting elements of our rich history and ancient heritage.

For a chance to win a FREE school tour to Craggaunowen Castle & Crannóg, students can indulge their creative side with our exciting art competition!

Theme: My Ancient Ireland

Entry Requirements: Students must include one or more of the following in their artwork:

Craggaunowen Castle
A Crannóg
A Ringfort
Ogham Writing
The Brendan Boat

Entries must be original artwork, created in either A4 or A3 size. Each student may submit one entry only and all submissions should include the student's name, class, school, teacher name and contact details.

TERMS & CONDITIONS

This competition is open to primary schools only. Please note the following terms and conditions:

The competition is open to 1st - 6th Class students
All entries must be received by Friday April 3rd 2026
Artwork must be original and created by the student
Only one entry per student will be accepted
The prize is non-transferable and cannot be redeemed for cash
The winner will be announced week commencing April 6th via social media and phone/email
The school tour must be redeemed by June 30th 2026 and is available for a maximum of 30 students and 2 teachers
Permission will be required to take photos of the winning student/class during the tour for use on Craggaunowen's social media channels.

Gather your paints and pencils, and remember every entry is a chance to win an unforgettable school tour exploring Ireland's ancient past at Craggaunowen. We can't wait to see all the colourful and creative artworks from students depicting what ancient Ireland is to them.
